Websites Like Igloo Inc: 10 Sites With the Same Magic

The closest websites to Igloo Inc are Messenger and Summer Afternoon, both from the same studio, Abeto. After those: Lusion, Lando Norris, KPR by Resn, Noomo, Persepolis Reimagined, Unseen Studio, Immersive Garden and Lusion's Infinite Passerella. All ten run real-time 3D in the browser, and every link below was opened and checked on 22 October 2026.

TL;DR. Igloo Inc is a Three.js site built by Abeto, and Awwwards named it Site of the Year 2024. Two of the ten below are Abeto's own work. The rest share its recipe: one real-time 3D world, a camera driven by your scroll or your thumb, materials you want to touch, and sound. Studio builds like these sit between $60,000 and $150,000 and up. The same patterns, scoped to one job, start from $3,000.

Which one are you?

What Igloo Inc is, and why the site is famous

Igloo Inc is the parent company of Pudgy Penguins and OverpassIP. Its own meta description says the mission is "to create the largest onchain community". A holding company for a penguin NFT brand, in other words. Not the kind of company that usually gets a famous website.

It got one because of how it was built. The site was made by Abeto, a small studio that describes itself as "specialized in the production of realtime experiences for the web". Awwwards credits the site to abeto, gave it Site of the Day on 23 July 2024 with a 7.92 score, then named it Site of the Year 2024 with a Developer Award. We checked all of that on awwwards.com before writing this sentence.

What you see: a single frozen world. You scroll, the camera travels through ice, and the company's story is written into that world instead of sitting on top of it. Open the source and the HTML body is empty; one JavaScript module draws everything.

What makes Igloo Inc work

We pulled the site's 3D bundle apart. Five things do the work.

  1. One material, owned completely. The bundle is full of refraction, fresnel, frost and caustic terms. That is shader language for light bending through ice. One substance, rendered better than anyone else had, which is why you remember it.
  2. The scroll is the camera. GSAP ties your scroll position to the camera's path, so reading the site feels like moving through a place. Scroll back up and you travel back.
  3. Real-time, not video. It runs on Three.js (release 165, per the code) drawing live on your GPU. That is why it answers your cursor, and why a screenshot can never show you the site.
  4. Heavy assets, made light. The geometry is Draco and Meshopt compressed and the textures ship as KTX2, a GPU-ready format that stays small. That is the unglamorous reason the thing loads at all.
  5. Sound. The bundle carries OGG audio and an AudioContext. Sound is the cheapest way to make a 3D world feel like a place, and most imitations skip it.

Every site below has at least three of the five. The table at the end says which.

Ten websites like Igloo Inc

Rules. Every site had to be live on 22 October 2026, checked with a real request, had to run real-time 3D in the browser, and had to feel like Igloo Inc rather than just have 3D. Cost bands are our estimates from the build and who made it, not published figures.

1. Messenger, by Abeto

Why it feels like Igloo: Same studio, same instincts. A tiny 3D planet where you play the courier, walking around to find people and run their deliveries. If Igloo is Abeto showing you a world, Messenger is Abeto letting you live in one. Awwwards: Site of the Day on 10 November 2025, then Developer Site of the Year 2025.

The trick: A complete game loop in a browser tab. The 3D bundle runs Three.js release 180 with a WebGPU renderer path already in the code, Draco, Meshopt and KTX2 compression, 56 references to OGG sound files, a WebSocket with a multiplayer flag, and gamepad support.

Estimated build band: Campaign-grade, $20,000 to $60,000 and up if you commissioned it. Abeto built it as their own showpiece.

Steal this: Give the visitor a verb. Walk, deliver, drive, build. Igloo gives you "scroll"; Messenger gives you "deliver". Once a visitor is doing something, they stay.

2. Summer Afternoon, by Vicente Lucendo at Abeto

Why it feels like Igloo: It is the warm-weather cousin. A sunlit 3D world you wander on foot. The page calls itself "A WebGL experiment by Vicente Lucendo", and Awwwards credits it to Vicente Lucendo and abeto, Site of the Day on 7 February 2023. Open it after Igloo and you can see the same hand.

The trick: Three.js release 148, KTX2 and Draco compressed assets, GSAP, MP3 ambience and gamepad support, all lazy-loaded from a 14 KB entry file. The whole world sits in one 1.5 MB module that only loads once you are in.

Estimated build band: A personal experiment, paid in evenings. A commissioned world like it is $20,000 to $60,000 and up.

Steal this: The tiny loader. Ship a light shell first, then pull the heavy 3D behind a loading moment you design on purpose. Igloo does the same.

3. Lusion

Why it feels like Igloo: Lusion is the Bristol studio whose homepage won Site of the Year 2023, the year before Igloo took it. The scene reacts to your cursor before you have read a word. Same bet: the 3D is the pitch, not the decoration.

The trick: Three.js release 158 with over a hundred custom shader materials in the bundle, a post-processing chain with bloom, particle systems, OGG audio, and 25 separate mobile checks in the code. At phone width it still drew three live canvases in our test.

Estimated build band: Six figures as client work. Lusion built their own.

Steal this: React in the first second. If the 3D answers the cursor immediately, the visitor knows it is live, and that is the entire reason to pay for real-time instead of video.

4. Lando Norris, by OFF+BRAND

Why it feels like Igloo: Awwwards Site of the Year 2025, and Users' Choice with 596 votes. One signature object, the helmet, rendered live and driven by your scroll, with everything else kept fast and editorial. The Igloo idea applied to a person.

The trick: Three.js release 174 with both WebGL and WebGPU renderer paths in the bundle, GLTF models compressed with Draco and KTX2, Lenis smooth scroll, GSAP ScrollTrigger, and over two hundred references to Rive for the 2D motion. On a phone it tells you plainly: "Please rotate your device, This is a vertical drive." Portrait only, by design.

Estimated build band: Six figures. A named studio, a global athlete, a site that updates every race weekend.

Steal this: One hero object, the rest plain. A watch, a shoe, a bottle, a helmet. This is the most copyable pattern on the list and the one we build most often.

5. KPR, by Resn

Why it feels like Igloo: Dark, dense, lore-heavy, and built for a crypto community, just like Igloo. KPR is a story world for an NFT project, made by Resn. Site of the Day on 26 December 2022, Site of the Year 2022.

The trick: A Nuxt app that lazy-loads a Three.js module per section, Howler for sound (there is an audio button in the nav), GSAP ScrollTrigger for the camera moves, and a Storyblok CMS underneath so the story can keep growing. On phones it insists on portrait: the page carries a "please turn your device to portrait mode" message.

Estimated build band: Six figures, funded the way NFT projects were funded in 2022.

Steal this: Put a CMS behind the world. KPR's 3D is a shell around editable content, which is how a site like this survives past launch day.

Want the Igloo feeling without the Igloo invoice? A Flagship 3D build starts from $3,000, 2 to 4 weeks, one signature object or one scroll-driven scene done properly. Need a sharp site fast instead? An Overnight Site is $399, live in 24 hours or it is free. The full service with real builds: 3D & cinematic sites.

6. Noomo Agency

Why it feels like Igloo: A Los Angeles studio whose own site won Site of the Year 2023 (Site of the Day on 21 September 2023). Scroll-driven 3D storytelling with the glassy, refractive look Igloo made famous, pointed at enterprise clients like Salesforce, AMD and Red Bull.

The trick: Three.js release 156, GLTF models through Draco, Meshopt and KTX2, custom shader materials with fresnel and refraction terms, and GSAP ScrollTrigger for the camera. The homepage says it is "structured for search engines and AI systems", and the source backs it up: the words are real HTML. At phone width it loaded as a normal content page in our test; the heavier 3D sits on their Labs site.

Estimated build band: Six figures as client work, built in-house as a showpiece.

Steal this: Keep the words in HTML. Igloo's body tag is empty, which looks great and reads as nothing to Google. Noomo gets the same look without paying that price.

7. Persepolis Reimagined, by Monks for Getty

Why it feels like Igloo: A world you move through on scroll, except the world is the ancient Persian capital at its height, rebuilt for the Getty museum. Site of the Day on 1 June 2022, Site of the Year 2022. If Igloo is ice, this is stone and sunlight.

The trick: A WebGL scene with 38 custom GLSL shader blocks in the app bundle, a bloom pass for the light, an AudioContext with MP3 narration and ambience, GSAP for the scroll choreography, and Vue underneath. Awwwards tags it WebGL, 360 and 3D. It drew a live canvas at phone width in our test.

Estimated build band: Six figures. Museum-grade research, a global agency, a site that has stayed up four years.

Steal this: Let the scroll be a walk. The Igloo camera move works for heritage, not just crypto. If you have a place, a factory, a vineyard or a venue, this is your pattern.

8. Unseen Studio

Why it feels like Igloo: You arrive at a door: "Enter" or "Enter without audio". Then a world you "drag to explore". That opening, sound on by choice and a scene you own, is the exact feeling of landing on igloo.inc. Unseen is a Bristol and London studio.

The trick: Three.js release 143, GLTF models with Draco, Meshopt and KTX2 compression, custom shader materials with refraction, Howler for the sound layer, and Rive for interface motion. It is WordPress underneath, which should give heart to anyone told that 3D needs an exotic stack. A live canvas rendered at phone width in our test.

Estimated build band: Six figures as client work, built in-house.

Steal this: The sound gate. Ask once, respect the answer, and the visitors who say yes get a site that feels twice as expensive.

9. Immersive Garden

Why it feels like Igloo: A Paris studio that won Site of the Year twice before Igloo existed (2017 for The New Mobile Workforce, 2018 for Orano), now making worlds for Louis Vuitton and Cartier. Their homepage is a scroll-driven stack of real-time scenes with the refractive, liquid-light feel Igloo pushed into the mainstream.

The trick: Three.js (the bundle carries both release 151 and 170 strings), GLTF with Draco and KTX2, Lenis smooth scroll, Howler for sound, and shaders packed with fresnel and refraction terms plus a bloom pass. It rendered twelve live canvases at phone width in our test, one per scene. Small scenes stay fast on small devices.

Estimated build band: Six figures. These are luxury-house budgets.

Steal this: Several small scenes beat one giant one on mobile. Igloo's single world is spectacular on a desktop GPU; a stack of light scenes is what survives a mid-range Android.

10. Infinite Passerella, by Lusion

Why it feels like Igloo: The purest "material" site on the list. An endless real-time fashion show: garments walking a runway forever, lit by LED walls you can change. The page credits Edan Kwan and Marco Ludovico Perego for the WebGL and Pauline Stichelbaut for the garment and interface design. Igloo owns ice; Passerella owns cloth.

The trick: Three.js release 132 with 67 custom shader materials, bloom, a snapshot feature, two camera modes, an AudioContext with MP3, and 18 mobile checks. It is honest about limits too: the page carries "not supported device", "not supported orientation" and "not supported WebGL" fallbacks.

Estimated build band: A studio experiment. Commissioned, $20,000 to $60,000 and up.

Steal this: Write the fallback before the feature. Igloo, KPR, Lando and Passerella all have a plan for the device that cannot run them. Yours should too.

The ten, side by side

Technique comes from each site's own code. Mobile behaviour is what the page text or a 375-pixel test showed on 22 October 2026; "not verified" means we could not tell. The build band is our estimate.

Read the mobile column twice. The sites that run on a phone split the world into small scenes or lean on one object. The ones that ask you to rotate built one enormous world and chose desktop. Neither is wrong. But you should choose, not discover it at launch.

Can you get an Igloo Inc-style site without a six-figure budget?

Partly. Here is the honest version.

A full Igloo: one continuous world, custom material shaders, a scroll camera through all of it, sound, fallbacks for every device, and the weeks of polish that separate "it works" from "it won". From a studio with awards on the wall, that is $60,000 to $150,000 and up. Campaign-grade builds from named studios commonly land between $20,000 and $60,000. Mid-tier agency 3D runs $8,000 to $20,000. The line-by-line version is in our guide to what a 3D scroll website costs, and the studios themselves are ranked in the best 3D website studios.

What you can get for less is not a smaller Igloo. It is one of the patterns above, scoped to one job:

  • The Lando pattern: one signature object in real-time 3D, driven by scroll, on an otherwise fast page.
  • The Persepolis pattern: a scroll that walks you through one place, pre-rendered as a frame sequence if the visitor never needs to steer.
  • The Unseen pattern: a sound gate and one scene you drag to explore.
  • The Igloo material: one substance, ice, glass, liquid, cloth, rendered properly once and used everywhere.

That is what DappaSol builds. A Flagship build starts from $3,000 and takes 2 to 4 weeks; "from" because a scroll film with one object and a configurator with live pricing are not the same job. We are not on the list above, on purpose. We build the copyable part.

Two pieces of our work show the ends of it. Axiom is a concept build: a React and Three.js storefront with a diamond rendered live in WebGL, the "own one material" idea for a jewellery brand. Streets of Punk is a scroll-film build: one pinned canvas scrubbing a 3D frame sequence as you scroll, the Persepolis move done the pre-rendered way. Our own pitch is a scroll film too. It takes about a minute.

Honest fit check: if your buyer wants a price and a phone number, skip the ice. A fast business site is $399, live in 24 hours or it is free, and we will tell you that on the first message.

Designers and agencies: send a client our way and you get 10% of the build fee, paid when the client pays. Say "referral" in the first WhatsApp message and name the client. No form, no partner portal, no minimum. Full terms on the agencies page.

FAQ

Who made the Igloo Inc website?

Abeto, a small studio that builds real-time web experiences, immersive sites and multiplayer games. Awwwards credits igloo.inc to abeto, and Abeto's Awwwards profile lists it alongside Messenger and Summer Afternoon. The site took Site of the Day on 23 July 2024 and Site of the Year 2024.

What is Igloo Inc built with?

Three.js (release 165 in the shipped bundle) drawing to WebGL, with GSAP tying the camera to your scroll, custom shaders for the ice (the code is full of refraction, fresnel, frost and caustic terms), Draco and Meshopt compressed geometry, KTX2 textures and OGG sound. The HTML body is empty; one JavaScript module renders the whole site.

What are the best websites like Igloo Inc?

Start with Messenger and Summer Afternoon, both by Abeto, the studio behind Igloo Inc. Then Lusion, Lando Norris, KPR by Resn, Noomo Agency, Persepolis Reimagined, Unseen Studio, Immersive Garden and Lusion's Infinite Passerella. All ten run real-time 3D in the browser and were live on 22 October 2026.

How much does a website like Igloo Inc cost?

A full build at an award-circuit studio runs $60,000 to $150,000 and up. Campaign-grade 3D from named studios commonly lands between $20,000 and $60,000, and mid-tier agency builds run $8,000 to $20,000. One Igloo pattern scoped to a single job, such as one signature object driven by scroll, starts from $3,000 at DappaSol and takes 2 to 4 weeks. All of these are estimates; none of the studios publish prices.

Can Webflow, Framer or Spline make a site like Igloo Inc?

Not the full thing. Igloo is custom Three.js with hand-written shaders, and no builder exposes that. Spline can give you one embeddable real-time scene, and Webflow or Framer can host the page around it, which gets you the Lando Norris pattern: one hero object on a fast site. Lando's site runs custom code loaded into Webflow, so the hybrid is real. The ice itself needs an engineer.

Does Igloo Inc work on mobile?

It loads a progress screen first, then the world; we could not fully verify the experience on a phone in our test. Among the ten similar sites, Lusion, Persepolis Reimagined, Unseen Studio and Immersive Garden drew live 3D at phone width, while Lando Norris and KPR insist on portrait orientation. The sites that run well on phones split the world into small scenes or lean on one object.

Does a 3D site like Igloo Inc hurt SEO?

It can. Igloo's HTML body is empty, so search engines see almost nothing. Noomo and Lando Norris keep their words in real HTML behind the 3D and still look the part. Keep headings, copy, links and schema in HTML, let the 3D handle the visual layer, and you get the look without losing the rankings.

What did Igloo Inc win on Awwwards?

Site of the Day on 23 July 2024 with a 7.92 score, an Honors mention in Business and Services for July 2024, a Developer Award, and Site of the Year 2024. We checked each on awwwards.com on 22 October 2026. Abeto's follow-up, Messenger, took Developer Site of the Year 2025.
