Towing Company Website Design
A towing website has one job: put a tappable phone number in front of a stranded driver in under two seconds, then prove you can handle their vehicle. DappaSol builds that page for $399, live in 24 hours. Service radius, duty classes, motor club work and reviews, all where a caller sees them.
TL;DR
- Your buyer is on a shoulder at 2am with 14% battery. Tap-to-call above the fold, hours next to it, everything else below.
- Overnight Site: $399, live in 24 hours or it is free. Tap-to-call, service area, duty classes, fleet, reviews, quote form.
- Engine: from $699, live in 2 to 4 days. Per-town and per-service pages, a quote flow that routes to a person, follow-up on commercial enquiries.
- We read five live towing sites for this page. All five nail the phone. Only two put reviews on the homepage, and almost nobody publishes rates.
Nobody compares tow companies at 2am
The buyer for a towing website is a person standing on a shoulder in the dark with 14% battery. They are not reading your About page. They opened three tabs from the map pack, and the one that loads first with a number they can tap wins the job. That is the entire contest.
The pages ranking for towing company website design are template galleries. No price, no turnaround, not one line about the person who has to use the thing. So here is the version written for the owner.
Five towing websites worth copying
Real, live sites we pulled and read on 3 September 2026. Each does something specific worth stealing.
Lucky's Tow Service, Liberty, Missouri
The number sits in the header and repeats through the page, next to buttons for Send My Location, Request Service Now and Get Directions. The opening paragraph names the towns it covers, then the roads: I-29, I-35, I-435, US-69, US-169, MO-210, MO-291. Three Google reviews with real first names sit near the bottom, and a We Accept payment block in the footer. luckystow.com
Steal this: list the highways, not a radius. A driver knows which road they broke down on.
AM Towing, Mukwonago, Wisconsin
The deepest service architecture of the five. Separate pages for light duty, heavy duty, flatbed, Landoll, boat, RV, motorcycle, off-road recovery and snow towing, plus a Fleet page, two branch pages and a Serving Areas page listing five Wisconsin counties. It states a sub-one-hour ETA, free estimates, 20 years, and membership of the Wisconsin Towing Association and Motor Carrier Association. amtows.com
Steal this: a Fleet page. Commercial callers want to see the truck before they trust you with a loaded trailer.
Alternative Heavy Towing, Phoenix, Arizona
Heavy first, and unapologetic about it: heavy duty towing, heavy recovery, crane and rotator service, HAZMAT cleanup, heavy hauling. The trust block is specific: trusted source since 2006, contracted by local and state police and sheriff's offices, member of the Arizona Towing Association, WreckMaster certified operators. It also publishes a Towing Rates page, which almost nobody does. alternativeheavytowing.com
Steal this: a rates page. Publishing a number filters out the callers who were only ever going to argue about it.
League City Towing, League City, Texas
Three sister companies on one site, each with its own phone number, street address and Call button in the first screen. All its locations are preferred AAA and motor club providers, and it sells Interstate Battery products at a discount. There is a 20% veteran discount line above the fold. leaguecitytowing.com
Steal this: put the motor club relationship on the homepage. It is the fastest credibility line in this trade.
Pulver Motor Service, Rochester, Minnesota
A top bar with seven towns, each paired with the number for that town: Rochester, Hanley Falls, Marshall, Austin, Stewartville, Plainview, and Valley Springs in South Dakota. Services are split by duty class, and the specialist work is spelled out: air cushion recovery, semi and tractor swaps, ice water recovery, farm equipment recovery, claim handling assistance. In business since 1920. pulvertowing.com
Steal this: one number per town. It tells a caller you actually have a truck near them.
What those five sites do and do not do
Yes means it is on the homepage where a first-time visitor sees it, not buried on a subpage.
| Site | Tap-to-call above the fold | 24/7 stated | Service area named | Fleet or capacity listed | Reviews on the homepage |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lucky's Tow Service | Yes | Yes | Yes, towns and route numbers | Yes | Yes, 3 Google quotes |
| AM Towing | Yes | Yes | Yes, 5 counties | Yes, own Fleet page | No, separate page |
| Alternative Heavy Towing | Yes | Yes | Yes, Metro Phoenix | Yes, rotator and crane | Yes, 3 Google quotes |
| League City Towing | Yes, 3 numbers | Yes | Yes, 3 addresses | Partly, duty classes only | No, separate page |
| Pulver Motor Service | Yes, 7 numbers | Yes | Yes, 7 towns | Yes, by duty class | No, separate page |
Every one of them gets the phone right. Two of five put reviews where a nervous caller can see them without clicking. That gap is the cheapest fix on this list.
The three things most towing sites still leave out
Duty class, stated plainly. Light, medium, heavy. A commuter with a dead Civic and a fleet manager with a jackknifed tractor unit are two different buyers reading the same page. If you can take both, say both. If you cannot take heavy, say that too, because a heavy call you have to refuse at 3am costs you the relationship anyway.
What happens to the money. Cash, card, motor club billing, insurance direct. Lucky's and Alternative Heavy Towing both run a We Accept block. It sounds mundane until you remember the caller is deciding whether they can pay you at all before they dial.
Storage and impound. If you have a yard, that is a second revenue line with its own searches. AM Towing gives impound and vehicle storage their own pages. Most towing sites hide it, then answer the same question on the phone all week.
The brief to hand whoever builds your site
Copy this, fill in the blanks, send it to us or to anyone else. If a builder cannot work from this, they are going to invent your business instead.
TOWING SITE BRIEF
1. Dispatch number that must appear as tap-to-call:
2. Second number (office / commercial / after hours):
3. Hours you actually answer: (24/7? or 6am-10pm?)
4. Towns, counties and route numbers you run:
5. Duty classes you can take: light / medium / heavy
6. Fleet: wheel-lift ___ flatbed ___ wrecker ___ rotator ___ Landoll ___
7. Specialist work: winch-out, off-road, water, EV, motorcycle, RV, boat, equipment
8. Motor clubs / insurers / police rotations you are on:
9. Certifications and associations (WreckMaster, state association, years in business):
10. Payment accepted: cash / card / motor club billing / direct bill
11. Storage or impound yard: yes / no + address
12. Link to your Google Business Profile so reviews can be pulled in:
Overnight Site: $399, live in 24 hours
One fast page, built in the order a stranded driver needs it. Tap-to-call in the first screen with the hours beside it. Service area in words a caller recognises. Duty classes and fleet. Certifications and motor club work. Real Google reviews. A quote form for the transports and equipment hauls that never needed a phone call.
The turnaround matters more here than in any trade we build for. You are open at 3am. Waiting six weeks on an agency to publish one page is not a plan, it is a queue. We mock it up, you look, you pay only when you like it. Live in 24 hours or it is free, then 14 days of unlimited changes. Code and domain sit in your accounts from day one.
Engine: from $699 when the phone is not the only channel
Bigger operations leak somewhere else. The emergency calls land fine. The commercial enquiries, transport quotes and fleet contracts arrive through a form, sit in an inbox nobody opens until Thursday, and go cold. The Engine build takes 2 to 4 days: per-service and per-town pages, a quote flow that routes to a real person, reviews pulled from Google, and automatic follow-up so a Tuesday enquiry is not a Friday apology.
Same mechanics either way: fixed price up front, milestone payments at 40/30/30, a working demo before each payment, 30-day warranty, WhatsApp for everything. Senior engineers, no account managers. Full pricing sits on the pricing page.
What you do not need
You do not need a blog. You do not need a chatbot standing between a scared driver and your dispatch number. You do not need a hero video of a wrecker at golden hour that pushes the phone number below the fold. That is the most expensive design decision in this trade.
What moves local rankings is boring: a complete Google Business Profile, reviews arriving steadily, a page per area you run, and a page that loads on a bad rural signal. Google's guidance on Largest Contentful Paint is worth ten minutes, because your visitors are on one bar of LTE more often than anyone else's. On credentials, the Towing and Recovery Association of America and WreckMaster certification are both worth naming if you have them.
We build for trades where the phone is the product. See the same approach for plumbers and roofing companies, our general website work, or what this costs elsewhere in small business website cost.

FAQ
How much does a towing company website cost?
$399 for the Overnight Site, flat, live in 24 hours or it is free. That covers one fast page built around tap-to-call, your service radius, the duty classes you handle, your fleet, and your reviews. If you want per-city pages, a dispatch form that lands somewhere your night guy can see it, and follow-up on the leads that come in through the site, that is the Engine build from $699. Nobody in this industry publishes a price, so here is ours.
What should be above the fold on a tow company website?
The phone number as a tel: link, big enough to hit with a thumb in the dark, plus the words 24/7 and the area you cover. That is it. Every one of the five sites we checked puts a tappable number in the header before anything else, and they are right to. A stranded driver is not reading your history. They are looking for a number that dials in one tap.
Do I need separate pages for heavy duty towing?
If you own a rotator or a Landoll and you want commercial work, yes. Fleet managers and insurance adjusters search different words than a stranded commuter, and they want to see capacity before they call: tonnage, wrecker type, recovery experience. Pulver Motor Service and AM Towing both split light, medium and heavy duty into their own pages for exactly that reason. If you only run light duty wheel-lifts, one honest page beats five pretend ones.
How do I show my service area without overpromising?
Name the towns, counties and highways you actually run. AM Towing lists five Wisconsin counties. Lucky's Tow Service lists the interstate and US route numbers it covers. That is more useful than a radius in miles because a driver knows which road they are stuck on, not how far they are from your yard. If a call comes from outside it, you say so on the phone instead of eating a bad tow.
Does a website help with motor club and insurance work?
It helps you get taken seriously. League City Towing states on the homepage that all its locations are preferred AAA and motor club providers. AM Towing names its association memberships and its insurance coverage. When a motor club or a fleet checks you out before adding you to a rotation, that page is the check. It will not win the contract on its own, but a dead site loses it.
My phone rings fine already. Why bother?
Because the calls you do not get are invisible. Someone taps the first tow company in the map pack, the site does not load or the number is an image, and they hit back and call the next one. You never hear about that. A site is not lead generation on its own, it is the thing that stops you leaking the leads Google already sent you.
Can it really be live in 24 hours?
Yes, and that is the point for this trade. You run all night, so waiting six weeks on an agency for a one page site is silly. We mock it up first, you look at it, you only pay once you like it. It is live in 24 hours or it is free, and you get 14 days of unlimited changes after launch. Code and domain are in your accounts from day one.
Send us your dispatch number, your service area and the duty classes you run. You get a straight answer back the same day on what your page should say and what it costs, no invoice attached. An Overnight Site is $399 and goes live in 24 hours. If it also has to route commercial quotes and chase them, that is the Engine build, from $699.
