Wall Street Bets

WallStreetBets (WSB) is one of Reddit’s most prominent and dynamic communities, boasting over 3 million members and a dedicated team of moderators. Known for its bold, unapologetic commentary, WSB is a hub for unfiltered investment discussions and daring stock market strategies, delivering recommendations with equal parts conviction and fairness.

The WSB brand captures the spirit of revolution—a vision of an imminent, alternative future where “apes” (a term lovingly used for community members) rise to disrupt the traditional financial system and take Wall Street by storm.

To bring this vision to life, we imagined a transformative scene: hordes of “apes” occupying Wall Street, overtaking the financial district with neon-lit signs and triumphant cries. This represents a symbolic end to the old guard of market control and the dawn of a new era powered by collective determination and grassroots action.

Design Challenges

WallStreetBets client needed a new identity (distinct from the sub-Reddit) that would be welcomed and accepted by the community. We needed to create abrand with the values of the existing audience but, simultaneously, be able to attract more mature and professional clients.

The web design of this project is the first of its kind, using only parallax layering to represent the actual WallStreet in New York

Process & Solution

In this brand, we included familiar symbols known to the current audience: memes, apes, slang, and tone of voice. Additionally, we introduced new elements: a dark theme, a futuristic look, and a representation of the actual Wall Street in NY.

The brand NEONIFIED all those elements. The final product transforms Wall Street into a festive future where all apes celebrate the decentralization of WallStreet.
